Images of my visit to the square late in the evening. Various government buildings surround the square.

Grand People's Study House, also known as the National Library of North Korea. The Leaders stand here when military parades etc.. are performed

Modern vs old

Markings on the road denote where people or groups of people must stand when attending for example military parades

Example of a parade at the square. People all lined up in exact rows.

Examples of North Korean Food

A bottle of local beer (actually very drinkable!) and a bowl of pickled cabbage in a oily soup. These were present at every meal.

Pickled cabbage. tasty but could never finish a whole bowl.

A selection of veggies (mostly pickled), bowls of rice and a soup containing dog meat.
